In Nigeria, our team provided funding and expertise to support our partner, the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI), to increase funding for epidemic preparedness at the national, state and local levels. GHAI’s multifaceted approach included strategic planning, advocacy capacity strengthening and coalition building with a range of local civil society organizations, as well as media engagement, to elevate the importance of preparedness and budget advocacy. This helped generate a 100% increase in funding for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control between 2019 and 2021.
